VIDEO DOWNLOADS ARE NOW UP TO 18x FASTER
Escalium has rebuilt how lyric videos are created inside the dashboard, cutting export and download times dramatically for every artist, creator, and label on the platform.
This update moves video rendering away from Escalium's servers and places it directly on the artist's own device, removing the biggest bottleneck in the entire export process.
The Problem With the Old System
Previously, every video created inside the Escalium Video Editor (AKA: The old "Creative Studio") was built on Escalium's own servers.
When an artist clicked Download, several things had to happen before they received their finished file.
First, the export joined a queue:
Behind every other artist exporting at that same moment, since the servers could only build a limited number of videos at once.
Once it was that artist's turn, the server rendered the video frame by frame, a process involving roughly 1,800 individual frames for a single one-minute video.
After rendering was complete, the finished file then had to travel back over the internet to the artist's phone or computer, a step that could take a noticeable amount of time on mobile data given that a one-minute 1080p video weighed around 26 MB.
On a server shared with the rest of Escalium's infrastructure, these delays could add up well beyond the baseline rendering time alone.

What Changed
Escalium has now moved video creation out of its servers and into the artist's own browser.
Instead of a remote server drawing each frame, the video is now built directly on the artist's device, using the same hardware video chip already built into every modern phone and computer, the same chip responsible for recording and playing video.
Frames are drawn across several processor cores in parallel, and lyric overlays are only redrawn when they actually change on screen rather than on every single frame.
Because the video is created locally, there is no queue to wait in and no file to download afterward.
On Android,
the finished video is saved directly to the device's gallery.
On iPhone,
Tapping Save Video opens the native share sheet, allowing the file to go straight to Photos, Instagram, WhatsApp, or any other destination the artist chooses.

The Numbers
Escalium measured both systems using the same computer, the same 60-second vertical video, the same clip, and the same word-by-word lyric style, changing only where and how the video was built.
720p Videos:
A one-minute video at 720p, Escalium's standard resolution, dropped from 83 seconds to 4.7 seconds, a roughly 18 times improvement.
1080p Videos:
At full 1080p, the same video dropped from 130 seconds to 8 seconds, a roughly 16 times improvement.
Even when simulating a slower, phone-class processor running four times slower than the test computer, a full 1080p export still completed in about 9 seconds, showing that the heavy lifting is handled by each device's dedicated video hardware rather than its processor alone.
These figures reflect only the time spent building the video itself. In practice, real artists stand to gain even more, since the old system also involved waiting in line behind other artists exporting at the same time and downloading a multi-megabyte file afterward, two delays that have now been eliminated entirely.
In busy moments, the real difference an artist experiences when exporting a video is often larger than the baseline numbers above suggest.
Smaller Improvements That Add Up
Alongside the core rendering change, several smaller optimizations were made throughout the Video Editor.
Library clips
have been re-encoded into lighter, optimized versions built for vertical video, shrinking a sample set of clips from 300 MB down to 94 MB with no visible loss in quality.
The video clip an artist selects now begins downloading in the background the moment it's chosen, while the artist is still picking a style, so the export itself no longer has to wait for the clip to finish loading.
Lyric overlays are also now redrawn only when the words on screen actually change rather than on every frame, a change that made word-by-word exports roughly 32 percent faster on phone-class processors alone.
Finally, clip previews inside the library now load as instant still images, only loading full video playback when an artist hovers over them.

An Added Privacy Benefit
Because videos are now built directly on the artist's own device, any personal clips or footage an artist adds from their own phone or computer are never uploaded to Escalium's servers.
They remain on the device throughout the entire process. Only the shared library clips, which were already hosted by Escalium, continue to come from its servers.

What This Means Going Forward
This change reflects Escalium's broader focus on performance and reliability across the platform.
By shifting video creation to the artist's own device, Escalium has removed both the server queue and the download step that previously slowed down every export, giving artists, creators, and labels a faster, more private way to turn their songs into finished lyric videos.
